Involvement
Volunteer Hours
Family volunteer hours help us to achieve three goals: 1. Provide quality programs for our children.
2. Build community among our families in the school. 3. Keep our children safe during lunch and lunch recess.
Blessed Sacrament asks each family to commit to volunteering on behalf of the school. There are many opportunities and different kinds of interests from which to choose. There is only one area to which each family is obligated to participate, and that is the lunch-time program. *Families with children in grades PK and K, who have no children in grades 1-8, are not required to add the 4 lunchroom/playground hours. For these families, the 4 hours are optional. The 4 hours are served on two days of your choice. One day should be "Lunchroom," or indoors, and the other should be "Playground," or outdoors. These assignments are also for the convenience of Blessed Sacrament families and helps the volunteer to plan and dress appropriately. Families are encouraged to fulfill lthe 4 lunch-time volunteer hours in the months assigned to their own children's grade level. Families with siblings are not required to fulfill more than 4 volunteer hours and may choose which grades to cover. Families are encouraged, but not required to volunteer in the months assigned to specific grades. We understand that schedules can be difficult. Also, we welcome grandparents and friends. These hours also count toward family volunteer obligations. Please remember to log all volunteer hours. If you have a child in one of the following grades, this guideline will assist you in fulfilling your lunchroom/playground hours:
