National Promising Practice Award
May 28, 2010…Washington, DC – The Character Education Partnership (CEP) has announced it will award 196 schools and districts from across the United States as well as Mexico, Puerto Rico, Brazil, and Singapore 228 awards for “Promising Practices” in character education.
Winning practices included creative ways to help students give back to their schools and communities, raise academic expectations and achievements, decrease bullying, increase tolerance, and solve conflicts peacefully.

The Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Center for Community of Caring has selected Blessed Sacrament Catholic School as a Utah State School of Character.
The State Schools of Character (SSOC) committee reviewed a number of portfolios and applications from several schools and districts with character education programs of exceptionally high quality in Utah and has designated Blessed Sacrament Catholic School as a Utah State School of Character.

Who's Who honors our nation's most respected teachers. Both were nominated by students in 2004. Who's Who Among America's Teachers was first published in 1990. We are honored to have two such outstanding educators and administrators on our staff.
The Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Center for Community of Caring has selected Blessed Sacrament Catholic School to receive a Certificate of Honorable Mention for its participation in the 2009 State/National Schools of Character.
Evidence consisted of completing a lengthy application, 7 page narrative, and 25 page portfolio based on the Eleven Principles of Character Education. The judges scored us a 3.4 out of 4.0! The purpose of the SSOC/NSOC awards program is twofold:
- To identify exemplary schools and districts to serve as models for others.
- To help schools and districts improve their efforts in effective character education.

Blessed Sacrament Catholic Elementary/Middle School received the 2008 Distinction in Character Education Award from the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Center for Community of Caring on Friday, April 4, 2008, at the University of Utah. The awards ceremony spotlighted schools on their achievements and programs on character education. Mrs. Judy Julian, principal, and Mrs. Sonia West, Director of Advancement, accepted the award on behalf of the entire Blessed Sacrament School Community.

Blessed Sacrament School National Winner for “Promising Practices” in character education.
We are pleased to announce that the Character Education Partnership has selected Blessed Sacrament School’s Interfaith Meditation Garden as a national winner in “Promising Practices” in character education. This garden was made possible by a grant from Lowe’s and their Toolbox for Education program and a donation from a parishioner. Below is the press release that will be sent to various media outlets. If you have not had a chance to visit our garden, please do so. It is located on the south side of the school and is a beautiful place to sit, pray, meditate, and relax.
